Is it possible that decluttering is actually divine?  Does organizing go beyond the physical and align with biblical principles? Well let’s look first at who we strive to model our lives after.  As Christians, we are to seek more and more to live like Jesus.  He is our example, our instruction manual for living.

In a world obsessed with accumulation and excess, the life of Jesus stands as a timeless example of simplicity and purpose. Beyond the historical narrative, Jesus' way of life provides a profound blueprint for decluttering—both in physical possessions and, perhaps more importantly, in the realm of the heart and mind. As we delve into the Scriptures, we discover that decluttering is not just a modern fad but a profound and biblical principle embedded in the very essence of Jesus' teachings.

Do you long to have calm amidst the chaos?  Do you want to get more consistent with your time with God, or are you in a bit of a dry spell when it comes to studying God’s word?  Well today’s episode is for you!  I am continuing my conversation with Rosie Alejandro, host of The Intentional Christian Woman Podcast.
Rosie is a Certified Mindset Coach, Educator, and Spiritual Growth Mentor. Through a Bible Study routine, she helps busy Christian women find calm in the chaos. She is the creator and host of The Intentional Christian Woman podcast, a top 1.5 % global podcast.

Rosie believes that to find true inner peace and grow in our faith, we must connect with God daily through His Word. She learned this lesson through her own spiritual walk when, in 2008, she drifted from her faith because she started believing the enemy’s lies and slowly allowed the world's worries to choke her faith and her motivation to be in God’s word. By God’s grace, her faith was restored in 2012 and since then she has developed effective Bible study routines that help her stay in close connection with God.

Rosie believes it is possible to connect with God every day through Bible study, even when time is limited. She loves helping women get focused, energized, motivated, and connected to grow their most important relationship!

The Impact of Mindset:
Our mindset, the mental framework through which we view the world, plays a pivotal role in shaping our reality. A fixed mindset, rooted in inflexible beliefs and a reluctance to entertain alternative perspectives, can limit personal growth and hinder meaningful connections. On the other hand, a growth mindset, characterized by openness, adaptability, and a willingness to learn, fosters resilience and enriches our understanding of the world.

Embracing a growth mindset involves acknowledging that our truth is just one of many possible interpretations. Our truth is not necessarily THE TRUTH.  By being open to consider another perspective, we create space for curiosity, empathy, and collaboration, which are essential ingredients for navigating the complexities of the human experience.

Shifting from a fixed to a growth mindset involves intentional efforts to challenge our assumptions and broaden our understanding. Today I am going to share with you 5 practical steps to foster a more open perspective.
I hope this episode blesses you!

If you have grown up in the church or are a practicing Christian, chances are you are familiar with the season of Advent.  I remember watching another advent candle being lit during church service each week to represent an aspect of advent.  But what is advent, anyway?  Do we stop and think about advent in an intentional and meaningful way?

I will speak for myself in saying that I certainly have not done a bang-up job of that over the years.  In the weeks leading up to Christmas, I am typically fighting overwhelm and anxiety as I cram in all of the holiday to-dos.

This season, however, I want to be more intentional about studying and thinking about the season of Advent and what it signifies.   In today’s episode, I talk about the meaning of advent in a literal and spiritual sense and hopefully leave you with some food for thought as you go about the month of December.  I am hoping you will slow down a bit and soak in the gifts of advent.

Stay tuned for today’s dose of soul-care for all you busy boss ladies out there….
I hope this episode blesses you!
Xoxo,
Tanya

We are going to take this in bite sized pieces.  We are starting with just talking about the steps that can be applied to every aspect of decluttering and organizing.  You might want to grab a notebook and pen for this one!

The holidays are always a time of year during which I get restless and frustrated about my house and how organized it is not.  I just want to take a month off to get organized.  I think to myself, “then I would feel like I can really stay caught up and manage my time better at work and at home.”

Getting organized would solve all of our problems, right?  Well…before you can truly get and stay organized, there is something you have to do first.  You have to get rid of what doesn’t belong.  This applies to everything from our homes to our schedules and most importantly to our minds and hearts!

The more I really look at the root of my restlessness and frustration, the more I realize it isn’t really about organization.  It is more about the clutter that I haven’t purged from my home.  It’s just too much stuff to get and keep organized.

Sometimes, our homes reflect our hearts, or at least they serve as a good metaphor.  Too often we are trying to balance and organize too much stuff in our minds, hearts and our homes.  We might get it together and get organized for a bit, but it quickly reverts into chaos and disorder.  Today I talk about what we need to do to really get to the root of our problem around time management, organization and work-life balance.

I hope this episode blesses you!
Xoxo,
Tanya

Are you feeling anxious the closer we get to Christmas?

Do you ever feel like the oddball during the holiday season… while others are getting excited for the festivities and basking in the joy of all that goes along with planning and preparing for gatherings and gift giving, you feel a growing sense of anxiety and overwhelm?  Maybe I am the only weirdo on the planet, but I really have to work at not getting overwhelmed and anxious between mid-November and the first of the year.  I feel an obligation to decorate my home and start all of the gift shopping.

While I love all of the decorations and festivity that surround me in other homes and venues, the thought of pulling it all together in my own home is overwhelming.  With all of our other work and life responsibilities, I sort of want to just skip over it.  But as a mom, I know the value of tradition. This is often the time of year that I find myself wishing that I had all of my time to work from home and manage my home instead of working full time outside the home and trying to also work from home and manage my home.  I have visions of all of the beautiful decorating I would do and how inviting I would make my home.

But…  my reality is not that right now, so I need to figure out how to make due with where I am in life at the moment.   Today is for those of you, like me, who struggle to keep from getting anxious over the holidays.  I am going to give you 10 tips to prevent, or at least reduce, anxiety during the holidays.

I hope this episode blesses you!

Tanya

Do you allow yourself to dream?  Are your dreams big or small?  Coming from a background of scarcity and living too often in fear of failure instead of faith in the unfathomable, I have not often allowed myself to dream, especially not big dreams.  However, I am learning that God wants us to dream because he has very big plans for our lives… plans that may seem impossible to us but are definitely possible for God.

I recently had the opportunity to get away for a women’s dream planning retreat in beautiful San Diego.  It was such a wonderful experience to be with other women who were willing to be vulnerable in sharing their God-sized dreams and to be courageous enough to keep dreaming things that are only possible because of the awesome God that we serve.

It got me thinking about the importance and value of having dreams.  Too often, we think that it is a waste of time or self-indulgent to think about and pursue our dreams.  But actually, dreaming is extremely important and beneficial when it comes to living abundant and successful lives.   Today I am sharing 5 reasons why it is so very important to dream as a Christian woman in leadership.

I hope this episode blesses you!

Tanya
