Hey, Friends!
Today, as we approach the Christmas holiday, I wanted to reflect on the humble birth of Jesus and what it means for how we are to live and lead.
In the hustle, bustle, and commercialization of Christmas, I think it is important to stop and think about what we are truly celebrating.  It is a time to remind ourselves of the precious baby, born in a stable, placed in a manger, destined to become the Savior of the World, Emmanuel, God with us.
Jesus’ humble birth gives us a picture of God’s heart.  Jesus exemplified humility and God wants us to have a heart like Jesus.  Humility glorifies God.  To live a life in which we follow Jesus’ example, we must be prepared to sacrifice our own comfort, honor and prestige, in exchange for a life lived in service to God and others.
Jesus modeled humility from birth to death on the cross.
If we are living lives focused on Jesus, what does that mean for the path we find ourselves on?  What does it mean for example we are to set as wives, mothers, daughters, and leaders?
What Jesus’s birth, life and death tell us is that following Him will mean a path of humility.

I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to.

Tanya

Hey, Sister Friend!
Do you ever feel like, as a Christian, you are going against the grain and you feel driven by different things than those around you?  Do you feel like your leadership style is not the most celebrated and is counter to the cultural messages surrounding you?  Well, guess what…it is probably true, and if so, you are probably on the right track.  The unfortunate reality is, the popular worldview of leadership is one that awards power, selfish ambition, arrogance, pride, and pedigree.   Jesus paints a picture of leadership that does not align with our popular culture.
I believe that we are at a critical moment in history.  While the world seems to be on a fast track toward Godlessness, our faith journey is on display for those within our sphere of influence.  We have to do our part to spread a message of hope, grace, and love.  So how does leading God’s way, look different than leading the world’s way?
In this episode we look at what the world tells us about leadership and what the bible tells us about leadership.  I describe 10 qualities of those who function from a spiritual versus secular perspective of leadership.  You will not want to miss this if you truly want to lead and live God’s way, not the world’s way.

I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to.

Hey, Sister Friend!
Are you a new, emerging, or struggling leader?  Having been in leadership for over 15 years, I have made or witnessed many mistakes made in leadership.  In today’s episode, we talk about 5 common mistakes to avoid as a new leader.
The 5 common mistakes we discuss are:
Making hasty decisions based on people pleasing.
Leading with the “What” instead of the “Why”.
Making changes before building relationships.
Choosing arrogance and pride over humility and vulnerability.
Failing to communicate effectively.
You might want to grab a notebook and pen, because these are some important practical and tactical tips to increase your odds of being successful in your leadership.
I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to.

Hey, Sister Friend!
Have you ever found yourself thinking, “who am I” or “why am I here”, or “what is my purpose”?  Have you felt this lingering question in your heart and you long to find the answer that leads to feeling more fulfilled and confident that you are doing something meaningful?
In this episode, I talk about answers to that age-old question.  I talk about what the world tries to say, and what the bible says about our identity.
I also talk about messages that sound good to our ears but may just be the work of the enemy filling us with empty promises and turning us from the truth.
God’s word clearly and simply answers the question for all of us.  We dig into Colossians to uncover the mystery surrounding the plan God has for our lives.

I hope this episode blesses you and that you will continue to join me on this journey toward balance, peace, and freedom to live the abundant life you were called to.
